• Sprayer hose leaks under the kitchen sink. Delta’s pull-down hoses use a swivel coupling that fatigues at roughly 15,000 cycles. In an ADU kitchen that sees daily use, that’s four to five years, and the leak often hides behind the garbage disposal where it goes unnoticed until the cabinet floor warps.

DIY or Call Us?

A homeowner can safely check the model number behind the trim plate with a flashlight and a Phillips head, and can confirm whether the water shutoff valves under the sink actually hold. What goes wrong is the sequence after that. Delta Monitor cartridges are keyed and can be forced in 180 degrees out of phase, which destroys the internal O-rings and floods the wall cavity when the water returns. The bonnet nut requires a specific torque, too loose and it leaks, too tight and it cracks the brass body.
