The Aztek vinyl privacy series comes in 6′ and 8′ panel widths, but the 8′ version uses a heavier 5″ x 5″ post with steel reinforcement, not the standard 4″ x 4″. Check the inside face of your end post for a stamped date code and series name; if it’s faded, measure the post width and rail height, and we’ll cross-reference.

Signs Your Techo-Bloc Fence Installation Is Failing

• Posts leaning at the base, especially after rain. Sherman Oaks has pockets of expansive clay soil near the foothills that heaves when wet and shrinks in dry months. • Panel gaps widening or shrinking seasonally. Vinyl expands roughly 1/8″ per 10 feet per 20°F temperature swing. A tight install in July will buckle by January if expansion gaps weren’t left at the brackets. We measure ambient temperature at install and adjust gap width accordingly.
• Corrosion staining at aluminum post bases. Galvanic reaction between the aluminum post and the steel anchor bolt happens when the isolation washer fails or was omitted. The white bloom you see is aluminum oxide; left alone, the post wall thins and the bolt hole elongates.
